The intent of this post is to share a presentation delivered during the CloudSaturday conference held January 24th in Chicago. My topic was Private and Hybrid Clouds with the goal of defining what it is, clarifying the value, and highlighting what’s required for implementation.
To summarize, private clouds are misunderstood because it’s a vague term. Rather than focus on private clouds we (IT) should keep our attention on what’s important for our business and create the foundation needed to support it. If self-service, chargebacks/showback, or greater elasticity is needed then seek out the solutions to enable those capabilities.
